Molten Core FR and Pots

Postby Universal » Tue Oct 03, 2006 5:11 pm

Hey guys i am making a post for those who aren't to sure on how much fire resistance they need to aim for and where they can farm pots to help bring rag down.

Priests, Warlocks, Mages, Druids - 80+
Rogues and DPS warriors 150+
Hunters, Shamans 100+

our MTs know what they need :)

Pots :

Greater fire protection potion (http://thottbot.com/?i=5390), Winterfall firewater (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=38651), Juju ember (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=17121), Elixir of the mongoose (http://thottbot.com/?i=14407), Greater arcane elixir (http://thottbot.com/?i=26062), Elemental sharpening stones (http://thottbot.com/?i=36214) and some other stuff like for example
demonic runes &amp +health/mana things on separate cooldown with potions

Also remember the corrupted plants in Felwood are the source of some very useful items, specifically Whipper Root Tubes (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=2959) and Night Dragon's Breath (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=6414).

(these are on different timers to Mana / Healing pots ! )

FELWOOD PLANTS

Whipper Root Tuber and Night Dragon's Breath are both items found in Felwood using the Cenarion Beacon. You must complete a prequest for the Druids in the south to get the Cenarion Beacon. If you've done it and thrown it away, you can get another from the NPC.

Anyways, you get Cenarion Plant Salves in return for turning in Corrupted Soul Shards, Fel Creep, Tainted Vitriol, Lesser Nether Essence, and Patches of Tainted Skin to the NPC (some of these can be gathered by killing Felwood beasts and collecting herbs in Felwood if you are a herbalist). You then get to parade all over Felwood looking for a sick plant and using Plant Salves on them. Some give you buffs, others give you items, as is the case for Whipper Root Tuber and Night Dragon's Breath.

Mod to assist with location and gathering etc:

and btw all leather users i can craft volcanic chest aswell as leggings (these are 20FR each) i am just waiting for the volcanic shoulder reciepe then i will be able to make the full set, feel free to contact me ingame and i will craft them for you once you have the mats.

Thanks guys , hope this helps a bit

I think all ranged(Casters/Hunters) should aim for about 150 unbuffed FR, with the melee guys wanting a little more.

Or in the words of Bewts - http://www.sorted.co.za/forums/viewtopic.php?t=583

The big thing about the FR resist is not just the fire damage you take. The higher your FR is the better chance you will not get knocked back from Rags knock back spells.

Hey,

If you are looking for FR gear go to http://wow-loot.com/ , just click on your class and scroll down to the fire resistance section. Its a very handy site for this kind of thing.

We've been doing rag for ages now, but this is roughly what values of FR we use.

Casters: around 150, not less than 100. (Some of our Priests only use 80)
Melee DPS: 200+
Main tank and offtank: 300+

Keep collecting as much fire resist gear as you can. When you hit BWL, you are going to need it for Vael. As a mage I try wear about 200 at times ).

Regards,
Tricksi (a.k.a Shrap)
